Executive Burnout & Corporate Stress Management

Avoid and manage executive burnout with support from Wendy at Bawden-Howe Coaching

I understand and recognise that good workplace wellbeing practices encourages a reduction in executive burnout, and that’s why I provide support to organisations who care about their teams. Helping leaders and managers to understand the causes of stress for them and their teams can help to improve their mental health and physical wellbeing.

Corporate stress management

One of the key causes of corporate stress is executive burnout. Individuals who are suffering physical or mental exhaustion can become increasingly stressed and frustrated, leading to higher anxiety levels among their co-workers. Poor decision making, erratic behaviour and unreasonable demands are just some of the symptoms witnessed by those living and working with someone close to burnout.

Executive coaching can help to avoid or reduce executive burnout and is particularly effective when part of a corporate stress management programme.  Providing time and a safe space for executives to reflect on how they and their teams are coping contributes to a feeling of wellbeing, leading to improved performance for individuals and organisations.

Lower stress levels result in enhanced workplace well-being, reducing absenteeism and high staff turnover, building an organisation’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Leaders are happier and more open in their communication, developing collaboration through shared activities and ideas, strengthening organisational resilience.

Executive Coaching Support

I provide executive coaching with one-to-one support for company executives. My approach is to provide an environment where insights are developed, thoughts and behaviours respectfully challenged working as partners to generate valuable outputs.  I seek to understand the landscape you are working in that may cause executive burnout so that strategies can be created to avoid stress overload and take a proactive approach to managing yours and other's wellbeing.

The net result for organisations and individuals is to grow the capability to consistently provide corporate stress management over the long-term.

FAQs on executive burnout & corporate stress management

Yes, it can. Executives who are too busy can often neglect their physical health. This can create issues caused by a poor diet as well as a lack of regular exercise.

By eating well and exercising regularly, stress levels can be reduced, decreasing the likelihood of executive burnout. Physical well-being needs to be considered as well as mental well-being.

I recognise the pressure that businesses and executive management teams have to achieve results. There is an argument that corporate stress will always exist to some extent, therefore it’s important to manage the potential causes as far as possible, whilst negating the impact.

Through effective corporate stress management, burnout can be minimised when individuals learn to recognise when they might be close to suffering executive burnout.

Corporate stress management is an ongoing activity that needs to be consistently applied to avoid issues with physical and mental wellbeing.

Mental exhaustion is when an individual struggles to think clearly, suffers with mood swings and lacks motivation or interest in what they are doing.

Defining and explaining mental exhaustion can be difficult but it could be described as “Mental exhaustion feels like physical tiredness, except it's your mind instead of your muscles”.

I cover the south of England and operate predominantly in London, Hertfordshire and Essex for face-to-face meetings. Online coaching can however be delivered to all parts of the UK.
